Refugees in Lesvos

These photographs were created during photography workshops with refugees in Lesvos, Greece, as part of the Through Their Eyes project.

Students documented what daily life looked like from their own perspective—some inside a refugee camp and others at a local shelter. Many of the participants were from Sudan and Afghanistan and had come to Greece seeking asylum or temporary safety after fleeing conflict, persecution, economic hardship, or other dangerous circumstances, hoping to build a safer and more stable future.

Through their images, participants captured moments of everyday life, friendship, resilience, and hope, offering viewers the opportunity to see the world through their own eyes.
