Nepal Boarding School
A small English boarding school in Kathmandu, Nepal is attended by over 50 students, about half of whom call the school home because their parents are unable to care for them.
Classes are held in a repurposed abandoned building, where many students share or go without basic school supplies. Education here isn’t taken for granted. It’s something they show up for fully, every day.
During my time living alongside the students, they were given cameras to learn photography and document their lives. The images that follow were taken by the students themselves, capturing both their days at school and their lives at home, an honest look at their world through their own eyes.
At the end of the program, we held a gallery for the students so they could see themselves represented through their own photographs and feel proud of the work they created.
